Margaret Newell - Architect AIBC, Leed AP

Margaret graduated from the Architecture Program at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, following completion of a Bachelor of Architecture with Honours (1987) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture (1988). She has been involved in a variety of institutional, commercial, and residential projects in the UK, the US, and Canada. Arriving in Victoria in 1992, Margaret joined the Architectural Institute of British Columbia in 1993.

Projects completed on the Island include; University of Victoria Lam Student Housing and 'Ring Road' 294 - Bed Residence, various Bank of Montreal branches, Mount St. Mary Hospital Interiors, Island Farms Cold Storage, Broadmead Dementia Lodge Renovations, as well as various Aquatic Centers off-Island in Aspen, Colorado, and Aberdeen, Washington.

Joining Joe Newell Architect Inc. in 2008, Margaret has enjoyed working with many Vancouver Island non-profit societies, including the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (Rosalie’s Village, Kirkpatrick Warehouse, Ozanam Centre Renovations), The Cool Aid Society (Access Health Centre, Queens Manor), M'akola Housing Society (Hope Centre, Braidwood Apartments) and the Capital Region Housing Corporation (Westview).

In each of her projects, Margaret encourages the participatory nature of the design process, working with the owner and/or end user to provide a tailored solution specific to their requirements.

Nidaa Al Dujaili - M.Arch, Interior Designer

With a Master’s Degree in Architecture in the UAE and over 20 years of experience, including 12 years in BC, Nidaa has been a valued member of our team since December 2017. She brings with her a wide range of experience, including interior & kitchen design, graphic design, and a wealth of residential design experience. Responsibilities at our firm include Design, Interior Design, and Graphic Design. Registered Architect in United Arab of Emirates.

Wilson da Luz - Architect AIBC

Wilson Graduated in Architecture and Urban Planning at Federal University of Parana, Brazil. Wilson is a Member of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia and has lived and worked in BC since 2003.

Joining Joe Newell Architect Inc. in February 2021 he brings over 30 years of experience, including 18 years in BC. With an extensive experience in architectural offices and construction companies in Brazil and Canada, his range of experience includes interior design, residential, commercial, institutional, industrial and urban planning. During his career, he had the opportunities to being involved since the early conceptual stages of a project right up to the completion of the final phase of the construction, working throughout design development, construction documentation and contract administration stages.

Serhiy Rasskazov - Intern Architect AIBC, M.Arch

Serhiy gained a Master Degree in Architecture in 2008 in Rivne (Ukraine). Since that time he has worked in various design companies in Ukraine and Poland. In 2013 Serhiy continued his education with the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Opole University of Technology (Poland). 
Serhiy has experience in construction administration, consultant coordination, schematic design, engineering system integration as well as design of residential and commercial buildings.
After moving to Canada, he worked in local design companies gaining experience in lumber structures commonly used on the west coast. In 2023 Serhiy got a professional registration as Intern Architect AIBC. In February 2023 he joined us at Joe Newell Architect bringing a wide variety of architectural design experience as well as usage of different European constructing techniques. Serhiy fluently speaks English, Dutch, Polish, Ukranian and Russian.
