Location: City of Victoria
Queens Manor is a former motel located on Queens Avenue in the Victoria. The City of Victoria purchased the property to convert it to affordable housing, in order to help accommodate the homeless population. 36 affordable suites are currently being renovated to provide kitchenettes, large living spaces, improved fire and life safety systems, as well as a ground floor lobby, laundry and meeting space.
The Victoria Cool Aid Society has been managing the project and will continue to do so through the construction, and into the future of this project. Working with the City of Victoria, Joe Newell Architect is proud to be a part of this great initiative to provide safe and affordable housing for a vulnerable segment of our society. Throughout construction, Canpro Construction was very conscientious about keeping the existing residents housed in the building as much as possible while they worked on each floor, one at a time.
