The Waterside

These 36 suites with a view are situated on the waterfront of Campbell River and accessed from exterior passageways. The building is set into the hillside along South Island Highway to minimize the visual impact for existing dwellings situated on the top of the ridge. The building itself presents a traditional elevation treatment with a palette of natural materials including stone cladding, cedar siding, and heavy timber elements.

The suites themselves make the most of the east facing frontage, with permitting windows in every major living space to capitalize on the expansive views. Extensive amenities such as fitness rooms, meeting spaces, office spaces, and visiting clinic spaces compliment the intention of this project to help house the growing senior population in Campbell River.
